A new store is setting up shop at the former site of Shoppers Drug Mart in Guelph’s south side.
Workers were seen on site there a couple of weeks ago and, more recently, a banner has been put up on the building announcing that a new PetSmart is “coming soon” to the location.
JUST THE FACTS
PetSmart, which is referred to on its Facebook page as “the largest specialty pet retailer of services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets,” also has a Guelph location at Willow West Mall.
On Friday afternoon, May 20, a representative from PetSmart responded to a Guelph Mercury Tribune query about the new spot and said information about the opening date and more is still to come.
The former Shoppers Drug Mart at 7 Clair Rd. W. closed in August of last year and a new one opened up nearby the next day, at 88 Clair Rd. E.
The plaza that will be home to the future PetSmart, Clairfield Commons, also houses the likes of Food Basics, Shoeless Joe’s, Starbucks, Pizza Nova and more.
