Two youths arrested after reported stabbing in Guelph
Two male youths face charges after a 16-year-old male was reportedly stabbed late on Monday, July 11, in the Willow Road Public School area, according to Guelph police.
Guelph Police Services reported that at approximately 10:40 pm, they received a call about a disturbance in the area of the school. A youth was located, reportedly suffering from stab wounds, when officers responded to the area. The victim was transported to hospital for urgent medical care, but is now in stable condition, police said.
According to police, the investigation revealed two groups of males were involved in a verbal altercation which turned physical, and two knives were recovered by police.
Two Guelph youths were charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possessing a prohibited weapon. They were held to appear in bail court on Tuesday, July 12.
