SPEDALER, Blair Griffin – Obituary – Guelph

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blair Griffin Spedler of Guelph Eramosa Township on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Patricia and daughter Ashlie and son-in-law Wade Wetmore of Kimberley BC

Blair lived his life true to his heart and passions. He cared for and was involved in quarter horses beginning in his early summer years in Puslinch Township. Whether it was through the local farmers like Frank Lake or the local cowboys such as Archie McArthur or LeRoy Kufke, he found his mentors. By honing his knowledge and expertise, life flew along with involvement in Quarterama, Ancaster Fair and board member of Ontario Reining Horse Association. His initial trade as a lithographer took him from the shop floor at Reid Dominion to the salesman for printing presses, large industrial machines and printing houses. He wore many other hats. One special mention is the defensive driving course he taught for Manheim Auto Auction.

A cowboy deserves a time to hang up his spurs and boots.

May he rest in peace.

Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to friends and neighbors for their support.
We also appreciate the support from the Emergency Room, Floor 4 East and West of Guelph General Hospital, Home Health Care, Paramedics, Whispering Oaks Unit at St Joseph’s Health Center and Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home.

A Memorial Tree will be planted on his favored acreage in the spring.

Donations in memory of Blair may go to the Alzheimer Society, Guelph Humane Society or to a charity of one’s choice. Donation cards are available at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph 519-822-4731 or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
