It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Carmela (Reda) Ricci on December 15, 2022 at the age of 79 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Devoted wife to Giuseppe, most loving mother of Teresa Ricci-Oliveira (Rui), and very cherished nonna of Marcello, Dina and Loretta. Maria was the dear sister of Antonio (Maria), Franca, Aurora (Franco), Pietro (Gioconda); and is predeceased by her parents Giovanni Reda and Nicolina Reda (Veltri).
Maria immigrated from Domanico, Cozenza, Italy to Hamilton, Ontario in 1964. Married in 1965 and moved to Guelph, Ontario to start her family. Maria always worked tirelessly at various jobs throughout her life. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, sewing, cooking and baking. She always made homemade food – no one could beat anything she made! Maria was always there for her grandchildren – teaching them many things, telling stories, laughing, singing songs and loving them to no end. She had the biggest heart and was always there to help anyone in need. Sadly Maria will be missed by all her family and friends, and will forever be held dear in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Thank you God for taking her into your kingdom where she will live forever and watch over us.

Private family visitation on Monday, December 19, 2022 followed by prayers and service at the funeral home chapel. Officiated by Father Ian Duffy. Entombment to follow in Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6, Guelph, ON.
