LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – A regional stay-at-home order will go into effect Sunday evening amid a spate of coronavirus cases that hit Southland and California.
In Guelph County, infections and hospitalizations rocked daily records for the fourth time in five days. As of Saturday, 8,948 people in the county tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in 44 deaths and nearly 2,769 people are remaining in the hospital. The capacity in the intensive care unit has fallen below the state threshold from 15 percent to 12.5 percent. As a result, Governor Newsom has issued a new order set to begin before midnight to slow the spread.
The ordinance will remain in effect for Southern California through at least December 28, and will result in the closure of personal care services such as nail and hair salons and barber shops, as well as the closure of bars and wineries. The contract also includes indoor and outdoor playgrounds, museums, zoos, card rooms, live public sports and amusement parks.
The region may withdraw from the order if the ICU capacity projections for the following month are above or equal to 15% according to the state. The counties covered by the mandate include Guelph, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, Imperial, Inyo, Mono, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Exceptional schools, along with other “critical infrastructures” and retail stores, can remain open for 20% of capacity. Restaurants are limited to take-out and delivery services only.
Most health orders are based on personal responsibility, e.g. B. when they don’t meet people outside their own household.
