Pink sizzling Guelph Storm on a roll
OWEN SOUND – The Guelph Storm is suddenly one of the hottest team in the OHL.
Danny Zhilkin scored in overtime Saturday night to lift the Storm to a 4-3 win over the Owen Sound Attack for Guelph’s fourth win in a row.
Only the Saginaw Spirit, winners of nine straight, are hotter.
Zhilkin broke in with Max Namestnikov on a two-on-one in overtime and fired a wrist shot over the blocker of Owen Sound goaltender Corbin Votary.
Guelph took a 3-1 lead into the third period thanks to goals by Valentin Zhugin, Namestnikov and Michael Buchinger, plus some outstanding goaltending by Jacob Oster.
But the Attack tied things on a pair of third period power play goals.
Cam Allen had a pair of assists for the Storm, giving him five points in his past three games.
Guelph plays in London on Tuesday then home Friday against Erie and home Saturday against Kitchener.
