The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles at Wellington Road 32 and Fife Road.

On Sunday Oct. 16, at approximately 6:30 pm, the OPP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision. It was reported a collision had occurred between a sedan and a pickup truck on Wellington Road 32 at Fife Road, west of Guelph, says a Sunday night news release.

The Wellington County OPP, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services, Waterloo Regional Paramedic Services and local fire departments attended the scene.

One occupant of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The three other occupants of the sedan were transported to a trauma centre, says the release. The identity of the deceased person is being held at this time pending next of kin notifications

The Wellington County OPP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team.
