One driver useless, one other despatched to hospital after collision between Guelph, Cambridge
Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles on Wellington Road 32 south of Concession 4, the OPP said in a news release.
On Jan. 4, at approximately 12:17 pm, the OPP received reports of a collision on Wellington Road 32. Initial reports indicated that a white sedan was traveling northbound on Wellington Road 32 when it reportedly collided with a black SUV that was going southbound . Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services, Puslinch Fire and the Wellington County OPP attended the scene.
The driver of the black SUV was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the white sedan was declared dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being held at this time pending next of kin notifications, OPP said.
The Wellington County OPP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team.
Wellington Road 32 will be closed from Wellington Road 34 to Concession 4 for the next several hours. “Please avoid the area and respect road closure signs,” police advised.
