Methods to beat the warmth and make a splash in Guelph

There will soon be lots of ways to cool off from the summer heat with splash pads and wading pools and more opening up in Guelph this month. Here is the list of what will be open and when:

SPLASH PADS

Guelph’s splash pads open for the season on Friday, June 10, with the exception of the Norm Jary Park location, which will remain closed until the work is completed on the nearby basketball hub.

Waverley, Jubilee, Northview, South End and Hanlon Creek splash pads will be open daily from 10 am to 7 pm

MARKET SQUARE

The Market Square water feature will be open for the weekend June 18 and 19 from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm After that, it will be open daily, starting June 30. Visit guelph.ca/marketsquare if you want to check out how busy it is before you come.

WADING POOLS

Wading pools in Exhibition Park and Sunny Acres Park are open weekends only, starting Saturday, June 11. They will be open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, starting June 30, but they close from 1 to 3 pm for cleaning.

LYON POOL

Guelph’s only outdoor swimming pool will be open for the weekends of June 11 and 18. It opens daily from 1 to 7 pm as of June 30 until Labor Day weekend. Register online for drop-in swims at recenroll.ca, or purchase a Lyon Pool pass at any city facility.
