Influenza outbreak at Guelph General Hospital could be declared over by Nov. 21

Guelph General Hospital declared an influenza outbreak on Wednesday.

The outbreak was announced with consultation from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, after two patients acquired the flu at the hospital.

The outbreak is contained to the 5 West unit in the hospital, said in a press release.

Visitors to the unit can still visit, although wearing a mask will be required at all times. Visitors are asked not to come to the hospital if they are feeling unwell.

If no other cases are reported before Nov. 21, the outbreak can be declared over.
