Having a ruff day? Seeing some dogs take to Lyon Pool could prove to be a paw-sitive experience.

The City of Guelph has announced that, on Sept. 5, it will be opening up the last swim at Lyon Pool to the city’s four-legged friends ahead of the pool’s draining for the season. The event will be leash free in a fenced setting, with all participating dogs required to be registered with the city and up to date on their vaccinations.

Owners are asked to leave the toys and food at home, although dog life jackets will be allowed. Drinking water is also permitted, but can not be in glass bowls or bottles. There are also fountains on site to refresh water dishes.

To register for a one-hour session, head online to recenroll.ca. Registration will remain open so long as space is available.
