The annual ‘FHT to Move Activity Challenge’, presented by the Guelph Family Health Team, is back again and this year’s theme is JUMP into FALL! This 3-week Activity Challenge is a way for participants to improve their mental and physical health, especially during the last couple of years with the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a friendly competition with the intent of discouraging community members, local businesses, organizations and groups to be more active and lead a healthier lifestyle.
It all kicks off with a return to an IN-PERSON Kick-off Event at Riverside Park in Guelph on Friday, Sept. 16 from 1:30-3 pm Register here.
The activity challenge starts on Friday, Sept. 16 (after kick-off) and runs until Friday, Oct. 7. During the 3-week challenge, participants log their daily minutes of activity, which contribute to their team’s total score. Participants can earn activity minutes in a variety of ways such as running, walking, stretching, meditation, weight lifting, etc. Bonus points can be earned by participating in separate daily and weekly challenges.
All participants are eligible for weekly prize draws. At the end of the 3 weeks, there will be prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place teams as well as a team spirit award.
