Tuesday morning is looking to be a slippery one.
Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning shortly after noon on Jan. 16 for Guelph, Waterloo Region and Wellington County, advising freezing rain is expected Tuesday morning.
“A period of freezing rain is expected beginning early Tuesday morning. A few millimeters of ice accretion is possible on some surfaces. Freezing rain is expected to change over to light rain by late Tuesday morning or early afternoon,” the warning reads.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for tail lights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
