An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Guelph General Hospital.
According to a post on the hospital’s website, the outbreak was declared in the hospital’s 7 East unit after three patients acquired the virus while in hospital.
“Several steps have been taken to keep the virus from spreading,” the post reads.
“These steps include; putting all patients in the unit in appropriate additional precautions, COVID testing of all patients in the unit, closing the unit to visitors except for compassionate grounds and increasing the cleaning being done including frequent cleaning of high touch and high traffic areas.”
