Closing Guelph.Beer Bus tour of the 12 months occurs this weekend

The Guelph.Beer Bus is back for a holiday-themed tour of local breweries this Saturday, Dec. 17. Guests will have the opportunity to catch a ride on one of the special Guelph Transit charter buses for free from noon-6 pm with stops at each local brewery.

This Saturday’s Guelph.Beer Bus will be the last run of the season before taking a winter hiatus with a return planned for Spring 2023. To celebrate the holiday season and mark the end of a successful run of the Guelph.Beer Bus, each brewery will have a special event or promotion planned for Saturday. Here’s what you can expect:
• Brothers will be hosting a Christmas themed coaster drawing contest with prizes for the best coaster
• Sleeman will have Head Pilot and Innovation Brewer Chris Williams from 2 – 6 pm in the Sleeman Hospitality Room. Chris will be sharing stories about how Sleeman creates new recipes
• Royal City will have a holiday themed photo booth setup at the brewery all afternoon
• Wellington will have DJ Chill Haze in the tap room from 2-6 pm and a food truck in the parking lot
• Fixed Gear will be tapping a four-year-aged Baltic porter alongside some live music

The Guelph.Beer Bus is open to people of all ages and there is no charge to ride the free shuttle bus although the group will be accepting donations to help support a scholarship for BIPOC students to go to the Niagara College brewing program.

Over the past six months, the Guelph.Beer Bus has seen record ridership numbers after returning from a two-year hiatus earlier this year. The organizers of the Guelph.Beer Bus would like to thank everyone in the community who has supported this initiative as well as Regional Tourism Organization 4 (RTO4) and the Government of Canada for providing funding support through the Tourism Relief Fund.
